Training Schedule

We meet at the times shown below.

You're welcome to turn up and chat to members, and even take part in a couple of sessions, before formally joining the club.

Bike Training

Saturday at 8:45am

In an attempt to meet various members' training and leisure plans a number of member-initiated routes are identified during the first 15 minutes of the Saturday meet. individuals then align themselves to the route that best suits their needs and requirements before heading off at 9am. Generally, depending on distance selected, we meet for coffee and cake at 12pm at a local cafe. We meet in the Lymington Town Council car park on Avenue Road.

Every other first weekend of each month

We will look to try and do some sort of timed training event on either the Saturday or Sunday (so we can include those who work on Saturday!) of the first weekend of the month.  This will include a 7 mile time trial, a hill climb (Bolderwood) or the annual timed 14 mile TT.  Watch the calendar section of the website or the Club Facebook page for more information.

Wednesday Cycling

Meeting at the car park entrance to Lymington Recreation Centre at 9:00am each week (weather permitting), where we agree on the route and the all-important coffee stop before we start.

The ride will be split into two groups from 18th April, cyclists wanting to do the longer course should be capable of averaging a minimum of 24k/hour over a usual route distance of around 60k. Please contact Ron if you are interested.

The shorter route will initially aim for 20 to 22 k/hour making sure that none is dropped. Please contact Neil if you are interested.

LTC members will be updated on events and Club activities via Facebook and the Club website.

Saturday rides are informal club rides or non-competitive time trials, not coached sessions.

Swim Training

Monday evening

May to October inclusive: Sea Swim (weather and conditions permitting) from the Needles Eye cafe in Milford (start time 6:30pm)

November to May inclusive: Pool swimming at Lymington Recreation Centre (start time 7:40pm).

Note: these are not coached sessions.

Friday evening

May to October inclusive: Sea Swim (weather and conditions permitting) from the Needles Eye Cafe car park in Milford (start time 6:30pm)

November to May inclusive: Pool swimming at Lymington Recreation Centre (start time 7:55pm).

CAUTION: Beware of exposed ironworks at Milford on Sea during a sea swimming session - You are swimming at your own risk.

Run Training

Friday Morning Training

Friday morning coached running sessions start at 9:15am. We meet at different locations depending on what the session is targeting. Please always check the club Facebook group or contact The Club to confirm if you are not sure.

Sessions are suitable for all runners who are capable of running at least 3km.

Tuesday Evening Running

Tuesday evening coached running sessions start at 6:30pm. We meet at different locations depending on what the session is targeting. Often meeting outside Waitrose opposite the Thomas Tripp during the winter months and the lower car park at Woodside Park during the summer months. Please always check the Club Facebook group or Club website (Events Calendar) to confirm.

The session offers a variety of training opportunities including speed work, intervals, drills and hill work around 10km in the 80 minute session. Sessions are suitable for all runners who are capable of running at least 5km.

Thursday Evening Running

Thursday evening running sessions are an informal, non-coached session, meeting at 6:30pm outside Waitrose opposite the Thomas Tripp. The session offers a variety of training opportunities including speed work, intervals, drills and hill work.
